@aryesegal1988 A lot less hassle working on GE engines (except the earlier CF6’s.) Problem is, the trent series goes back to the RB211 architecture, and the abuttment splines on the IP shafts still wear alarmingly quickly which results in frequent contained and less frequent uncontained failures in service. Many uncontained have made recent news, including a BA 744 which continued to LHR after IP turb disc failure after departing KLAX. Later enroute, fuel emergency and diversion. RR=poo.

@hoarp001 Sorry, but no. An engine fire in a QF trent 900 which propagated from a badly designed oil feed pipe which fractured and caused an oil fire which increased intermediate turbine disc heat and the consequent fracture and separation which resulted in the very near loss of an A380. The damage bill to fix VHQQA is expected to be over $200 million dollars as this aforementioned disc severed the leading edge wingspar, as well as failed numerous other systems. Sorry, but RR aren’t that good.

@zimtower a bit of cladding fell off an engine. Nothing exploded, it wont happen again. No real harm done.
