For the water source just use a piston and turn it on then put water on top, the water doesn’t fall down until the piston is turned off, then just wire the redstone where you want and use a lever it’s a lot more simpler

Anyways, I LOVE THIS VIDEO. I am new-ish, to Minecraft and this was one of the very first things I looked up. Your video is VERY descriptive and I only got confused one time (MY FAULT entirely)
A Note to all players, don’t do what I did and try doing this on an island in the ocean, you will have to do A LOT of editing to prevent flooding, but I managed. Looking great. Going to continue on viewing the next video!!! Almost there!!
